Meredith-Clark Funeral Home is one of the only green burial providers serving the families of Morgan, Brown, and Johnson Counties. We also work closely with East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown, which is one of the few cemeteries nearby that offer a specific area designated for green burial.
We provide multiple options for anyone seeking to express their concern for the planet in their final farewell. With green burial in our state, you may choose to not be embalmed, or to receive a “green” embalming, which is better for the earth. Embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. We can offer you a number of biodegradable urns or wicker caskets that will ensure that your footprint on the environment is as minimal as possible.
We invite you to reach out to our experienced staff any time to learn more about green burial.
