Glenn A. Brown, age 65 of Morgantown, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, April 11, 2024. By his side was his devoted wife and their loving family.
Glenn was born November 7, 1958 in Beech Grove. He attended John Marshall High School in Indianapolis and went on to retire from the Facility Maintenace Department at Brown Forman Corp. in Spencer. Prior to that, he worked in Facility Maintenace at Bradford Soap Works in Columbus.
Glenn was a member of the Martinsville General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, where he sang in the choir and was a former Youth Leader. Glenn enjoyed the outdoors by hunting, fishing, boating and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, bowling in his Wednesday night league in Franklin and was a fan of NASCAR with his favorite driver being Jimmie Johnson. Glenn loved spending time with his family and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events or school activities.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janet S. (Johnson) Brown, whom he married on June 12, 1993 in Martinsville. Glenn is also survived by his children, Sheryll (Eric) Coffee of Martinsville, Tomarra (Toby) Carr of Franklin, Chad (Dana) Brown of Franklin, Michelle (Jason) Mooney of Martinsville & Bill (Heather) Swain of Martinsville; siblings, Deborah (Mark Gilpen) Dawson of Greenwood, Tina (Ted) Alexander of Texas, Connie (Donnie) Kraus of Lawrence, Dessa Kay Harris of Lawrence, Edward (Nancy) Dawson of Chicago, Jimmy (Brittney) Brown of Evansville, Dennis (Tahnea) Brown of Nashville, Billy Harris of Lawrence & Guy Dawson of Texas; 14 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna M. (Frank) Dawson, father, Russell G. Brown; siblings, David Brown, Roger Dawson & Jessie Dawson; and a granddaughter, Emily Davis.
Bro.'s Max Piercefield & Jim Ellis will conduct a funeral service on Thursday, April 18th at 10:30 a.m. at the Martinsville General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, 2032 State Road 252 in Martinsville. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 17th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Burial will be at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
