Wilma F. (Edens) Hess

Wilma F. (Edens) Hess, age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, April 20, 2021 at her home in Morgantown.

She was born on November 21, 1931 in Milan, to her parents, the late Roy and Anna Jane (Gribbon) Edens. Wilma was a loving wife, homemaker, mother, grandma and great grandma. 

She enjoyed reading her bible and attending the Franklin Pilgrim Holiness Church for the past 19 years. Wilma also enjoyed tending to her indoor & outdoor flowers and plants, visiting yard sales and collecting windchimes. Wilma will be remembered for her excellent cooking, especially her fried chicken. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson.

She was preceded in death on October 12, 2003 by her loving husband of 37 years, Harold Eugene Hess, whom she married on March 25, 1966 in Shelbyville. Wilma is also preceded in death by a son, Brian Hess; siblings, Mary Luck, Barbara Wilson, Anna June English, Vera Craney, Leroy, her twin, John Ray, Joe and Charlie Edens.

Wilma is survived by her children, Marsha R. (David) Dunbar of Washington, David R. Hess and Steven M. Hess, both of Morgantown; sister, Martha (Phillip) Miller of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Michael, Caitlyn, Joshua and Olivia Dunbar, Larry and Lois Hess; and a great grandson, Anakin Dunbar.

Pastor Timothy Forsee will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Franklin Pilgrim Holiness Church, 1000 Hospital Road in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
