Sue Ellen (Kingen) Keller, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, March 27, 2023 at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. She was a resident of Brown County.
Sue was born September 2, 1939, in Indianapolis, to the late Quitman and Vivian (Baker) Kingen and graduated from Fortville High School in 1957. She worked as a Scheduler at Fort Benjamin Harrison until her retirement in 1994. After her retirement, she worked part time doing home visits for a medical company in Indiana.
She was part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program as a mentor in Nashville and created several long-lasting friendships. Sue loved to watch both NBA and College basketball and would always be cheering for her favorite teams. She also enjoyed playing crossword puzzles with her brother, Tom as well as, playing scrabble, card games and euchre with her friends. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and baking goodies during the holiday season. Most of all, Sue loved spending time with her family and taking care of all her cats over the years, but most recently Shelly and Simon.
She will be missed by her sister-in-law, Jan Kingen of Greenfield; nephew, Brian Kingen and his wife Erin of Indianapolis; great niece, Cassidy Lawton; great nephews, Kyle Kingen and Caleb Lawton as well as her close friend Bonnie Tucker.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, LuAnne and her brother, Tom Kingen.
In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated with a Celebration of Life Service to be held on Saturday, April 15th at 1 p.m. at the Restoration Church: 1550 Tracy Road in Whiteland. A light lunch will follow the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
