Stephan "Steve" Mara Obituary

Stephan “Steve” D. Mara, age 71, passed away Saturday morning, January 2, 2021 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. He was a resident of Brown County.

Steve was born July 1, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri to his parents, the late James and Marian (Dietrich) Mara. He graduated from high school in 1967 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree from East Central State College in Oklahoma. Steve was the owner and operator of Mara Enterprises, providing skilled carpentry work for the Brown County area.

He married Norene Maher Mara on June 20, 1992 in Nashville. She lovingly survives after 28 devoted years of marriage. Steve was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Nashville and enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts, and playing music on his bass guitar.

Steve will be missed by his wife, Norene of Brown County, sister Sydney (Mike) Nickels of Brown County and a brother James Mara of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
