Rose Mary (Jennings) Jones, age 88, passed away Sunday morning, January 24, 2021 at Sugar Grove Assisted Living in Plainfield. She was a resident of Brown County and a former resident of Plainfield.
Rose Mary was born in Richmond on September 22, 1932 to her parents, the late Roy Ernest and Clare ‘Gladys’ (Boyce) Jennings. She married James Oliver ‘Jim’ Jones on May 21, 1988 in Nashville. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2002 after 14 loving years of marriage.
Rose Mary was also preceded in death by siblings, Lois Jenkins, David Jennings, Bobby Jennings and Jimmy Jennings.
She is survived by her children, Robert J. ‘Bobby’ (Cheryl) Gatts of Indianapolis, Phillip (Anne) Gatts of Mooresville and Lynn Green of Plainfield; brother, Paul (Linda) Jennings of Richmond; grandchildren, Brian (Kaneesha) Gatts of Noblesville, Angela Gatts of Indianapolis, Rachel (Jason) Shore of Kansas City, Missouri Aimie (Christopher) Morris of Charleston, South Carolina and David (Melissa) Gatts of Mooresville; great grandchildren, Isaiah & Asa Shore, Luke & Gwendolyn Morris and Kenzie & Benjamin Gatts.
Rose Mary retired in 1989 from the United States Postal Service where she worked as a Rural Postal Worker both in Morgantown and Plainfield. Prior to that, she was a licensed Real Estate Agent. Rose Mary enjoyed listening to classical music, reading spiritual books and watching the sunset over Little Fox Lake. She was a true believer and longtime participant in yoga. Rose Mary loved her family dearly and was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Father Eric Johnson will conduct a funeral service on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1008 McLary Road in Nashville. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Weeping Willow Cemetery in Bean Blossom. Masks will be required to wear at all times in an effort to promote a safe environment. Funeral services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
