Robert "Bob" V. Gregg

Robert “Bob” V. Gregg, age 66 passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, October 10, 2021 at his home in Martinsville.

Bob was born November 16, 1954, in Franklin, to his parents George C.  and Martha (Bowman) Gregg. He was a 1974 graduate of Indian Creek High School and later married Donna L. Casler on December 1, 1979 in Mooresville. Donna preceded Bob in death on December 16, 2017 after 38 loving years of marriage.

Bob worked for the Indiana Department of Corrections as a Corporal Officer at the Plainfield Correctional Facility from 1979 until his retirement in 2010. During his 31 years of service, Bob accumulated several stories that he enjoyed sharing with his friends and family.

In his free time, Bob was a gifted artist and woodworker and spent several hours making furniture. Bob also liked to spend time in the outdoors cutting and splitting firewood for his wood stove. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and was a 44-year member of the Eminence Masonic Lodge F&AM 440.

He will be missed by his mother: Martha (Frank) McClure of Mooresville, step-children: Robert E. Lefort of Osceola Mills, Pennsylvania, Alonzo “Al” (Carrie) Nichols and Randy A. (Melinda) Nichols both of Cloverdale, 3 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren and brothers: Michael (Mary) Gregg of Trafalgar, Steve (Kim) Gregg of Gainesville, Florida and Raymond (Anna) Gregg of Simpsonville, South Carolina.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, George Gregg and his wife, Donna Gregg.

A masonic service, followed by a funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 16th at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center located at 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.  Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
