Rick Pitcher, age 68, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday morning, November 12, 2020 at his home in Brown County.
He was born on November 28, 1951 in Franklin to his parents, the late Willie and Vennie (Fox) Pitcher. He was a 1970 graduate of Indian Creek High School and later married Kathy Brown on March 5, 1978 in Trafalgar. She lovingly survives after 42 devoted years of marriage.
Rick was a Manager for Morgantown Feed for over 35 years. He also spent his time growing beans, corn, hay and raising hogs on his farm. Rick was active in his daughter’s lives by being a 4-H Swine Leader from 1988 until 2003. He also served as the Brown County Fair Board President for several years and was a former firefighter for the Morgantown Volunteer Fire Department. Rick loved raising fox terriers and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Rick will be missed by his wife Kathy, children: Katie Sichting and Jessica (Rob) Konkle all of Morgantown, grandchildren: Lacey Sichting and Anna May Jones and siblings; Karen Pitcher of Martinsville, Raymond Pitcher of Helmsburg and Beth Smith of Greenwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; William “Bill” Pitcher and Cynthia “Cindy” Rose.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m. Monday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home: 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.
