Ralph “Steve” Callon, age 75 passed away peacefully on Monday evening, November 23, 2020 at the Otterbein Franklin Senior Life. He was a resident of Brown County.
Steve was born November 12, 1945 in Johnson County, to the late Oren C. and Martha G. (Emberton) Callon. He grew up near Spearsville and cherished the memories of attending the Spearsville Wesleyan Church with his mother.
Steve retired in 2005 from Amtrak in Beech Grove, where he worked as an Electrician for over 40 years. He was avid auto mechanic and loved to restore old model cars. He enjoyed any type of auto racing, especially the Indianapolis 500. Steve also enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to country music. Steve attended Hoosier Harvest Church in Martinsville, prior to residing at Otterbein Franklin Senior Life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret J. (Marshall) Callon, whom he married on September 14, 1964 in Franklin. Steve is also survived by his children, Steven (Margaret Ellen) Callon of Carlisle, Ohio, Carolyn (Wes) Trammell of Morgantown and Roy (Christy) Callon of Nashville; siblings, Judy Stephens of Franklin, Wilma Callon of Nashville, Jimmy Callon of Whiteland, Kenny Callon of Spearsville and David Callon of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Nathanael Callon, Ana Cochran, John Callon, Abigail Callon, Sam & Carissa Trammell and Bryant & Evan Callon; great grandchildren, Clementine, June, Ivy & Zoey and several nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Spearsville Wesleyan Church Cemetery in Brown County. Funeral services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
