Michael E. Wert

Michael “Mike” E. Wert, age 65, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022 at his home in Martinsville.

Mike was born March 21, 1957, in Indianapolis and was a 1975 graduate of Indian Creek High School.

Mike recently retired in March 2022 after proudly serving many years as a construction laborer for LiUNA Local 120 in Indianapolis. He loved spending time in the outdoors by doing yard work at the farm.

He will be missed by his son, Clifton Michael Wert of Morgantown; grandson, Dailen Michael Wert, siblings, LaDonna (James) Elmore of Trafalgar, L. Joseph (Lori) Wert of Wyoming and David C. Wert of Brown County; as well as several nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth W. and Linda K. (Hancock) Wert.

Pastor Tom Knight will conduct a graveside service at noon on Monday, September 19th Mt. Zion Cemetery in Morgantown. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
