Michael G. Goodwin

Michael G. ‘Mike” Goodwin, age 70 passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, November 9, 2023. He was a resident of Brown County and a former resident of Indianapolis.

Mike was born April 23, 1953 in Indianapolis, to his parents, the late Louis L. and Mary H.  (Zentko) Goodwin. He was a 1971 graduate of Southport High School and went on to earn a degree in Electrical Engineering from Ivy Tech. Mike retired from Amtrak in Beech Grove where he worked as a Pipefitter.

Mike was a member of the Cottonwood Christian Church in Brown County. He enjoyed the outdoors by deer hunting, fishing with his best friends Chris & Larry, and the solitude that living in the hills of Brown County brought him. He also enjoyed boating at both Monroe & Raccoon Lakes and sky diving as a Jump Master. Mike loved his family especially his grandchildren, where he never missed an opportunity to be their biggest fan at their sporting events. 

Mike is survived by his son, Jason (Jennifer) Goodwin of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Kadin Seeman, Luke Goodwin & Andrew Goodwin all of Indianapolis, Matthew Ward and Maya Ward both of Brown County; siblings, Linda (Bob) Lane, Karen Wright and Brian (Brenda) Goodwin all of Greenwood. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Jessica Ward.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, he will be cremated. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
