Mary Juanita (Whitworth) Thompson

Mary Juanita (Whitworth) Thompson, age 85, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 15, 2019 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.  She was a resident of Morgantown.

Juanita was born May 9, 1934, in Lamar, Arkansas, to the late Guy and Eva Leona (Chesser) Whitworth. 

She retired in 1986 as a Machine Operator with Arvin Automotive in Franklin after more than ten years of service. Juanita was a 58 year and loyal member of the Morgantown General Assembly & Church of the Firstborn. 

Juanita was a devoted mother and loved caring for her family. She will be missed by her church family and her huge extended family who would often refer to her as mom or grandma. Her faith in God was her stabilizing force throughout life and she wanted her family to "Be Happy and Trust in the Lord". Juanita enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens and collecting bells throughout the years and received many special bells from her children.

Juanita will be missed by her children, Debbie K. Scisco of Mooresville, Cheryl (Ron) Cunningham of Morgantown, Deloris Brummett of Martinsville, Nellie (Gary) Phillips of Williams and Michael (Dodie) Thompson of Bonnieville, KY; siblings, Charles (Sue) Whitworth of Trafalgar and Doris Daugherty of Franklin; eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sons, David A. & Donald P. Thompson; siblings, Carolyn Whitworth, Ronnie Whitworth, Faye Haught and Lola Deglar; and one grandson: Eric Wayne Crutcher.

Bro. Rodger Bunch will conduct a funeral service on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Morgantown General Assembly & Church of the Firstborn, 5885 S. Lick Creek Road in Morgantown.  Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Burial will be at east Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
