Mary F. (Heidenreich) Hamilton

Mary F. (Heidenreich) Hamilton, age 88 passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 7, 2022 at Homeview Health & Rehabilitation Center in Franklin.  She was a resident of Morgantown.

Mary was born February 7, 1934 in Indianapolis, to her parents, the late Clifford and Nellie (Truex) Heidenreich. She was a 1952 graduate of Martinsville High School. Mary worked for over 18 years as a Cook for Morgantown Elementary and Indian Creek Elementary.

She loved reading her bible daily and was a member of the Morning Star Church in Trafalgar. Mary was an oil painter, painting both landscapes and country scenes. She collected ‘old people’ glass figurines and was a fan of The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, Murder She Wrote, Quincy and old western television shows. Mary loved cooking and will be remembered for her delicious lasagna, which was served at every family reunion. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death on February 13, 2019 by her loving husband of 63 years, Fred Hamilton Jr., whom she married on May 22, 1955 in Morgantown. She was also preceded by siblings, Ethel Dunn, Pricilla Williams, Charlotte Selberg, LaVerne Cornett, Charles and Clifford Heidenreich.

Mary is survived by her children, Jeff (Dedria) Hamilton of Franklin, Kim (Brett) Baird of Trafalgar and Scott (Amy) Hamilton of Martinsville; grandchildren, Gary Hamilton, Dustin (Danielle) Baird, Kiah (Jeff) Thompson, Amy Hamilton and Damon (Hannah) Baird; great grandchildren, Jason, Haleigh, Cade, Luke, Tara, Hudson James, Hudson Joshua, Henry, Boston and Etta.

The Revs. Brett Baird and Jeff Hamilton will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Friday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Morgantown.
