Mary A. (Benefiel) Cline

Mary A. (Benefiel) Cline, age 88 passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, May 30, 2023 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a resident of North Vernon and a former resident of Brown County.

Mary was born September 26, 1934 in Indianapolis to her parents, the late Ernest and Christine Benefiel. She attended Emmerich Manuel High School in Indianapolis. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked in her earlier years as a Peeler Packer for NAPA Auto in Indianapolis.

Mary enjoyed working puzzle books, watching games shows and reading biography books about country music singers. She also enjoyed her Mt. Dew and spending time with her dog, Lucky.  

Mary was preceded in death on January 18, 2020 by her loving husband of 65 years, Duane O. Cline, whom she married on July 3, 1954 in Indianapolis. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Cathie Cline; grandson, James Wagers; and several siblings.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Debbie McBride of Shepherdsville, KY; grandchildren, Tabatha (Denver) Ramey & Joseph McBride both of Indianapolis, six great grandchildren & six great-great grandchildren.

Rev. John Parsley will conduct a funeral service on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Unity Baptist Cemetery in Brown County.
