Marty D. Lowhorn, age 65 passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. He was a resident of Cicero and former resident of Nashville, Tennessee and Morgantown, Indiana.
Marty was born October 20, 1956, in Franklin to his parents to the late Willie D. and Georgianna (Hensley) Lowhorn. He attended Indian Creek High School and later worked as a Brakeman for B&O/Chessie System Railroad from 1978 until his retirement in 1988.
Marty enjoyed woodworking and made several shelves, calendars and miniature knickknacks for friends and family. He loved animals, and spending time in the outdoors by camping and fishing. Marty was also a protective father who loved his children dearly.
Marty also enjoyed listening, playing and performing music and was a member of the gospel band “Heavenly Strings.” He loved singing Vince Gill songs and would often perform in Nashville, Tennessee.
Marty will be missed by his children: Rebecca (Eric) Rooks of Columbus, Matthew Lowhorn of Morgantown and Jennifer (Josh) Hayes of Elizabethtown; grandchildren: Levi, Joseph, Elizabeth, Madison and Hannah; his former spouse and friend: Teresa Lowhorn; siblings: Larry (Kim) Lowhorn of Galveston, Tennessee and Kenny (Cindy) Lowhorn of Freetown; Aunt Jean Massa and Uncle Gerald Hensley both of Tennessee; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Willie Lowhorn and mother Georgianna LeRoy and brother Gary Lowhorn.
Mrs. Cindy McKinney will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 12th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 11th at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
