Mark Wayne Blevins

Mark Wayne Blevins, age 56 of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, November 16, 2023 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Mark was born in Indianapolis on July 13, 1967, to his parents, the late John J. and Mary C.  (Miller) Blevins. He attended Indian Creek High School and remained in his home state his entire life. Mark took pride in being a hard-working carpenter and enjoyed fishing, music, spending time with his sons, grandchildren, family and many friends. Early in life, Mark was good at raising hell, and wreaking havoc anywhere he saw a deficiency and was shameless in taking great pride of this accomplishment. With age came the wisdom needed to understand his meaning in life was to set the example for others. Mark very slowly transitioned, at his own pace, into adulthood as a kindhearted man who would give you the shirt off his back.

He enjoyed restoring his 1967 Triumph, caring for his dog, Louie and watching the History Channel.

Mark was honest, caring, compassionate and loved by all, especially his sons, Dustyn Merriman of Nineveh and Justyn Blevins of Brown County; brothers, Joe (Jewel) Blevins of Morgantown and Danny Blevins of Jamestown, Kentucky; aunt, Loriene Gale Borders of Fayetteville, GA; nine grandchildren; and one niece & four nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, David E. Blevins; uncle, Loren Dale “Cuz” Miller; and grandmother, Beulah Miller.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends & family may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.

Mark would expect you to come as you are in blue jeans and t-shirt and in the event you overdress, he will be laughing at you.
