Marjorie Collett Obituary

Marjorie C. ‘Peggy’ (Elsbury) Collett, age 93 passed away peacefully on Monday morning, February 15, 2021 at Otterbein Senior Life Community in Franklin. She was a resident of Greenwood.

Peggy was born September 27, 1927 in Morgan County and was a 1945 graduate of Morgantown High School. She retired from BKD CPA Firm (formerly known as Geo. S. Olive & Company) in Indianapolis. Prior to that, she worked as a Clerk at Rihm’s IGA in Morgantown.

Peggy was preceded in death on June 21, 1985 by her loving husband of 37 years, Floyd T. Collett, whom she married on October 18, 1947 in Morgantown. She was also preceded in death by her father, Paul Elsbury; mother, Ethel (Hamilton) Elsbury – Prather; step father, Robert N. Prather; siblings, Virginia Vest and Paul Elsbury; and a son in law, Jim Moore.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth Ann Moore of Bargersville; brother, Robert L. (Patricia) Prather of Seymour; grandsons, Scott (Kimberly) Moore of Crawfordsville and Todd (Jennifer) Moore of Harrison, Idaho; twelve great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy was a member of the Rocklane Christian Church in Greenwood and formerly attended the Trafalgar Christian Church and the Fair Haven Christian Church. She was also a member of the Ransford IMH #605 Order of the Eastern Star. Peggy enjoyed being outdoors, working in her yard and feeding the birds. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

A private family funeral service will be held on Monday and conducted by Rev. John Bell with burial at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Arrangements entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.

Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Peggy to the Fair Haven Christian Church, 1476 W. 300 S. Franklin, IN 46131.
