Marian E. (Batman) Neat McClellan

Marian E. (Batman) Neat McClellan, age 88, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday evening, January 2, 2022 at Franciscan St. Francis in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Indianapolis.

Marian was born March 27, 1933, in Danville, to her parents the late Jesse E. and Amanda Pauline (Stewart) Batman. She grew up in Bargersville and was a 1951 graduate of Center Grove High School. In 1953, she married Harry T. Neat and together had two children. Harry passed away all too soon in 1957.

Through the years, Marian worked as a secretary for Farm Bureau, worked as a construction loan closer for Union Federal and later sold jewelry at Sears. She was a former member and pianist at the Bargersville Christian Church. Marian enjoyed working on puzzles, watching Reggie Miller play for the Pacers, and spent her Saturdays watching and singing along with the Gaither Band. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Kay Neat Prochaska; grandchildren, Ashley Michelle (Chris) Keen, Amanda Kay Prochaska, Cassaundra Kay (Ryan) Wilbur, Amber Desiree Ness; and great grandchildren, Elijah Ness, Nevaeh Prochaska, Amos Ness, Jace Wilbur, Isabelle Keen, Harrison Wilbur and Max Keen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse & Pauline Batman, husband Harry T. Neat; sons, Harry Thomas Neat and Robert Brian McClellan; and brothers Raymond and Wendell Batman.

Pastor Dean Manuel will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 4 p.m. on Friday, January 7th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. A private inurnment will take place at East Hill Cemetery.
