Linda J. Hildreth

Linda J. Hildreth, age 73 passed away peacefully on Monday morning, May 22, 2023 at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Morgantown.

She was born September 18, 1949 in Franklin, to her parents, the late Ralph A. and Eva Mae (Turner) Hildreth. At the age of six, Linda and her parents moved to Arizona for a short time before her family relocated to Garland, TX where she attended Freeman Elementary School through the 4th grade. Once the family moved back to Indiana, Linda continued her education at Union Elementary School and then Southwestern High School in Shelby County. She moved to Morgantown in July 1993 and developed a few, but close, relationships with some of the locals. 

Linda attended the Morgantown United Methodist, where she had worshiped for many years and loved spending time with her church family. She was a former member of the First Mt. Pleasant Church in Franklin. Linda enjoyed Bible Studies and listening to gospel music. She will be remembered for being a homebody, who enjoyed watching educational tv, talking on the phone to friends and eating out at Kathy's Cafe, KFC, Dairy Queen and McDonald's. Linda was an avid reader of anything she could find, but Louis L'Amour was her favorite short story writer. She was also fascinated with astronomy and how stars form in the night sky.

She is survived by caregivers, Susan Hall of Morgantown, Kathy Wilkinson of Trafalgar and Fran Haggard of Morgantown.

Pastor Ezechiel Habwawihe will conduct a funeral service on Friday at 11 a.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Harris Cemetery in Johnson County.
