Linda L. (Blackwell) Ayers, age 78 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday evening, March 9, 2021 at her home in Greenwood.
Linda was born May 8, 1942 in Franklin to her parents, the late Dale L. and Louise (Arthur) Blackwell. She was a 1960 graduate of Southport High School. Linda went on to retire as a Claims Processor from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in Indianapolis after 27 years of service.
Linda was a devoted 78-year member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Indianapolis. She enjoyed playing the piano at church, traveling and shopping at Vera Bradley. Linda’s true passion was her love of family, especially her grandchildren and church family.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Louanne) Ayers of Broad Ripple and Bryan Ayers of Greenwood; siblings, Myrna (Naman) Poynter of Greenwood, Gale (Bill) Magby of Fortville and Carl (Linda) Blackwell of Mooresville; grandchildren, Jacob and Logan Ayers, both of Broad Ripple.
Linda was preceded in death on March 30, 1990 by her loving husband of 25 years, David L. Ayers, whom she married on April 17, 1964 in Indianapolis.
Rev. Cullen Reed will conduct a funeral service at noon on Saturday at the Gospel Assembly Church, 5809 Bluff Road in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. Funeral services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
