Krista Jo (Fleehearty) Rogers

Krista Jo (Fleehearty) Rogers, age 61 passed away all too soon on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at her home in Brown County.

Krista was born July 6, 1959, in Indianapolis, to her parents, the late Harry and Earline (Horton) Fleehearty.  Krista graduated high school in Phoenix, Arizona and attended J Everett Light Career Center, where she obtained the certification as a Dietary Supervisor. She married Junior Wayne Rogers on December 29, 1989 in Indianapolis. He survives after 30 devoted years of marriage.

Krista was a Dietary Supervisor and worked at various nursing homes, including Windsor Manor and Oaks Nursing Home. She loved to cook for others and enjoyed experimenting with new recipes. Krista collected Longaberger baskets, Boyd’s Bears, enjoyed traveling watching NASCAR with Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. being her favorite drivers. She also loved watching the show “I Love Lucy” and had a collection of Lucy memorabilia. Krista will be remembered for her love of all animals and her caring nature. 

Krista was a member of the Brown County Community Church for the last 7 years. She loved her church family and enjoyed spending time reading and studying the bible.  Known for her love of gardening, Krista was the entrepreneur of Hosta Hill where she spent endless hours spreading her love and passion for all who came.

She will be missed by her husband, Junior, brother: Michael (Kathrine) Fleehearty, niece Kelley Fleehearty, nephew Casey Fleehearty, foster son, James Shearer and his children: Keyona, Kyinna and Casey.

Krista was preceded in death by her parents, and son Michael “Mikey” Arteaga.

Pastor Ken Smith will conduct a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at Sprunica Church Cemetery in Brown County. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.To reduce the spread of COVID-19 and follow the mandate by the Governor of Indiana, all visitors will be required to provide and wear their own face covering and maintain social distancing.
