Kathy L. “Kate” Cox Hosimer, age 67, passed away all too soon on Wednesday afternoon, March 11, 2020 at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Morgantown.
Kathy was born August 8, 1952 in Linton, to her parents, the late Charles J. “Hunk” and Katherine L. (Struckmeyer) Richardson. She was a 1971 graduate of Northwest High School in Indianapolis. Kathy earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, where she also played softball.
Kathy was employed at Signature Formulation in Trafalgar as the Manager of Shipping and also at Bass Boat Saver in Trafalgar. She was an active member of the Indiana Bass'n Gals Fishing Club, where she was the Tournament Director. Kathy was also the only female member of the Cho Cho Fishing Club in Beech Grove.
She enjoyed fishing competitively in many tournaments, raising her horses and caring for her dachshunds. Kathy also enjoyed golfing, visiting the casino and reading mystery novels.
She is survived by her loving husband, James L. “Jim” Hosimer, whom she married on February 9, 2009 in Livingston, AL. Kathy is also survived by her sister, Lisa (Steve) Reeves of Carmel; and nephews, Neil (Melinda) Reeves of Fishers, Matthew (Melinda) Reeves of Noblesville and Dustin Richardson of New York; sister in law, Teresa Richardson of Brownsburg; and nieces, Alex and Lindsey.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin S. Richardson.
The Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a Celebration of Kathy’s Life at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
