John W. Gatton, age 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at his home in Nineveh.
John was born January 4, 1951, in Indianapolis, to his parents, John M. and Viola (Brown) Gatton and attended Manual High School.
John was part owner of D&G Construction Pole Barns, was a Custodian at Indian Creek High School from 1988 until 1995 and later was the owner and /bartender of the One & Only Pub in Trafalgar. He enjoyed camping, fishing, throwing darts, playing poker and going to the casino. Most of all, John enjoyed spending time with his family.
He will be missed by his wife, Janet Gatton, who have spent the last 17 years together. He will also be missed by his sons: John E. (Chanda) Gatton of Morgantown and Danny J. (Tanya Eisenmenger) Gatton of Franklin; step-children: Julie (Mike) Goforth, and Adam Anderson; grandchildren: Michelle (Steven) Keener-Jackson, Danielle McIntosh, John McIntosh, Zachary Gatton, Zoey Gatton, Hannah Gatton, Kayleigh Hadley, Kelsie Goforth, Conner Goforth; 13 great grandchildren and siblings; James (Suan) Gatton and Dan (Nora) Gatton both of Indianapolis.
John was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Kellie Keener.
Friends and Family may attend visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2nd at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center located at 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.
