JoAnn Clephane Obituary

JoAnn (Eastwood) Clephane, age 77, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at her home in Martinsville.

JoAnn was born March 7, 1943, in Lafayette to the late William H. and Martha L. (Darling) Eastwood. She was a 1962 graduate of Brown County High School. JoAnn married Teddy "Ted" A. Clephane on January 1, 1963 in Martinsville. He preceded in her in death on June 26, 2017 after 54 loving and devoted years of marriage.

JoAnn worked at the Morgantown Group Home in the late eighties. She also worked for Gateway Services before becoming the Electronics Manger at Walmart, where she retired in 2008 after 14 years of service.  

JoAnn was a member of the Martinsville Seventh Day Adventist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, canning, and baking peach cobbler & persimmon cookies. JoAnn felt a special compassion for working with children and adults with developmental disabilities and will be remembered most for her caring nature.   

She will be missed by her daughters: Julie K. Clephane & Jackie (Shannon) L. Scott, both of Martinsville; sons: Joseph (Jill) A. Clephane of Morgantown, Jeff P. Clephane of TX & Jerry (Marla) L. Clephane of Brown County; siblings: Robert E. Eastwood of New Castle, Wesley S. Eastwood of Columbus & Michael A. Eastwood of Nashville.; eleven grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ted, siblings: David Eastwood, June Hutchison, Patricia Huffman, Leota Hudson, William “Billy” Eastwood.

A private Family Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
