Jimmy Clark Obituary

Jimmy Dwayne Clark, age 75 of Trafalgar, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday evening, April 8, 2024.

Jimmy was born December 19, 1948 in Franklin, to his parents, the late Harold D. and Betty Jean (Barrett) Clark. He was a 1967 graduate of Trafalgar High School and went on to retire in 2018 as a Purchasing Agent for Jungclaus Construction Company in Indianapolis after 22 years of service. Prior to that, Jimmy worked as a small engine mechanic for Trafalgar Hardware.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carolyn June (Crouch) on September 8, 2022. They were married on July 4, 1967 at Bluff Creek Christian Church in Bargersville. Jimmy was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Larry Lambert.

He is survived by his children, Lora Lambert of Trafalgar, Beth (Mike) Schoenberg of Whiteland and Bryan (Dawn Taylor) Clark of Bargersville; siblings, Shirley (Mark) Willoughby of Florida and Michael Clark of Bargersville; grandchildren, Derek (Casey) Taylor of Bargersville, Courtni Clark of Terre Haute, Josh, Sam and Emily Schoenberg of Whiteland; great grandchildren, Alaina, Amiyah, Elaina, Emersyn and Lylah June.

Jimmy was a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union in Indianapolis, Beech Grove Baptist Church in Trafalgar and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Greenwood with his grandchildren. He was a 50-year member and founding member of the Trafalgar Young Farmers Association. Jimmy worked various positions at the FFA Center in Trafalgar, which varied from cutting grass to grilling thousands of pork chops over the course of eight years.

From winning tractor pulls with his Allis Chamber throughout the country, to hunting that prized deer or turkey, to catching the big one while fishing, he will be remembered for being a "Jack of all trades." Jimmy's family would also refer to him as the "Tree Leveler" for his love of cutting trees on his property. His true passion was being surrounded by his family and friends at his home that he built all while living in a teepee for over a year during construction. Jimmy's home became his sanctuary and a tradition for so many to celebrate the fourth of July with a community picnic and fireworks for over 25 years.

The Rev. Brian Clark will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 15th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
