Jeanetta (Scrougham) Lauderdale, age 85, passed away Wednesday evening, July 27, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Bloomington.
She was born on February 9, 1931, in Franklin. Jeanette was a 1949 graduate of Morgantown High School. She married Alvin Lauderdale on June 9, 1950 in Morgantown. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1986 after 36 loving years of marriage.
Jeanetta was a loving wife, homemaker and mother. She enjoyed the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Jeanette also enjoyed sewing, reading, watching western movies and soap operas. She was a collector of bells and angels.
Jeanetta is survived by her children, Mary (Donald) Balser of Greensburg, Ronald Lauderdale of Elnora, Janet (Terry) Sullivan, Joyce (Charles) Flanders and Bonnie (David) Morgan all of Bloomington; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Lauderdale of Otwell; 23 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Shelly Work of Indianapolis and Dee Work of Franklin.
Jeanetta was preceded in death by her mother, Flora Bell Reynolds, husband, Alvin; son, Billy Dean Lauderdale, great granddaughter, Peyten Alexandria Jade Harden; siblings, Wilma Burchfield, Robert, David and James Work.
The Rev. Larry Mitchell will conduct a funeral service at noon on Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Morgantown.
