Jean L. (Barnett) Haugh

Jean L. (Barnett) Haugh, age 96 passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, April 6, 2023 at Homeview Health & Rehabilitation Center in Franklin. She was a resident of Trafalgar.

Jean was born January 1, 1927 in Nineveh, to her parents, the late Harvey James and Ida Mae (Walters) Barnett. She was a 1945 graduate of Nineveh High School. Jean started her 30-year career working for Nineveh Hensley Jackson School Corp. as a Secretary at Nineveh Elementary School and after the consolidation, she held the same position at the Indian Creek High School, until her retirement in 1993.

She was a member of the Mt. Auburn Church - Trafalgar Campus in Trafalgar, where she formerly served as the Treasurer. Jean was also a member of the Morgantown Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority, Red Hat Society and the Trafalgar Senior Center. She enjoyed wintering in Ft. Myers, playing golf, mushroom hunting and cooking & baking.

She was preceded in death on June 17, 1990 by her husband, William R. Haugh, whom she married on August 10, 1947. Jean was also preceded in death by a grandson, Andy Haugh; and siblings, Millie Jones, Ray, Glen, Nelson & Jim Barnett.

Jean is survived by her sons, Patrick (Rebekah) Haugh of Trafalgar and Tim (Anita) Haugh of Greenwood; grandchildren, Jason (Karen) Haugh & Jonathan (Emily) Haugh both of Shelbyville and Abby (Eric) Powers of Pekin; great grandchildren, Emma Haugh, Elsie & Owen Powers and Penelope & Vivienne Haugh.

Mr. Rick Greenwood will conduct a private family graveside service. Funeral service at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to the Mt. Auburn Church - Trafalgar Campus, 375 Pleasant St. Trafalgar, IN 46181.
