James E. “Bud” Raley, age 86, passed away peacefully Friday, October 30th at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. He was a resident of Nineveh.
Bud was born May 25, 1934 in Lebanon, Kentucky, to his parents, the late Edgar and Velma (Coffey) Raley. He married Doris Houchin on July 9, 1955 in Livingston, Tennessee. She lovingly survives after 65 devoted years of marriage.
Bud was a retired plumber after over 40 years of service. He was a former member of the Fairhaven Christian Church and enjoyed the outdoors by fishing and hunting. Bud was a fan of watching western movies and was an avid knife collector.
He is survived by his wife Doris, children, Greg (Annette) Raley of Trafalgar, Mark (Ann) Raley of Franklin, Pam (Steve) Moore, Tom (Dee) Raley and Chis (Rhonda) Raley, all of Nineveh; siblings; Ramona Settles of Mooresville and Phyllis Gray of Greenwood; grandchildren: Drew, Samantha, Alexi, Jessica, Wyatt, Hannah, Zachary, Katie, Caleb, Kyle, Maggie, Ethan and Rachel and 21 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Mike Mason and Charles Thomas Raley.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
