James Lambert Obituary

James R. “Jim” Lambert, age 82 passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, May 31, 2020 at Fairway Village in Indianapolis.  He was a resident of Gatesville.

Jim was born December 10, 1937 in Indianapolis, to his parents, the late Ralph and Francis (Statom) Lambert. He attended Helmsburg High School. Jim retired from Westinghouse in Bloomington, where he worked as a Machine Operator and Inspector for over 35 years.

Jim was a member of the Neighborhood Church of God in Brown County. He enjoyed going to church, spending time with his grandchildren and collecting flashlights. Jim will be remembered as a hard worker and great provider to his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ethel D. (Warren) Lambert, whom he married on October 19, 1956 in Trafalgar. Jim is also survived by his children, Jamie (Millie) Lambert of Alaska, Jeff Lambert of Nineveh, Steve Lambert of Edinburgh, Shaune (Donald) Denson of Nineveh, Bonnie Gatewood of Edinburgh, Darrell Lambert of Nashville and Bryan Lambert of Nineveh; siblings, Alvin Lambert and David Lambert, both of Brown County, Ronnie (Peggy) Lambert of Bloomington and Christina (Thomas) Dahlstrom of Edinburgh; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Lambert; granddaughter, Kelly Williams; and a great grandson, Hunter Starr.

The Rev. Jim Albertson and Bro. Sam Harrington will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
