James Wm Eskridge

James Wm. ‘Jim’ Eskridge, age 71 passed away on Sunday evening, April 30, 2023 at his home in Paragon.

Jim was born September 17, 1951 in Indianapolis, to his parents the late Virgil M. and Pauline E. (Matlock) Eskridge. He was a 1971 graduate of Mooresville High School. Jim went on to earn certifications in Electronics and Appliance Repair. He retired in 2003 from Walmart in Martinsville where he worked in the Electronics Department.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Rosella (Robert) Lester of Paragon; siblings, Nola (Mike) Hughey of Martinsville, Paulette (Robert) Northern of Morgantown & Paul Eskridge of Georgia; grandchildren, Timothy Thomas of Martinsville, Katlyn Parr of Illinois, Victoria Cooper of Bloomington, Alexandria, Angel & Mary Lester all of Paragon; and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years, Doris (Davis) Eskridge, whom he married on April 19, 1977 in Mooresville. Jim was also preceded in death by siblings, Virgil Eskridge Jr. and Jane Eskridge.

He enjoyed working with electronics and writing poetry. Jim was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Star Trek movies. He will be remembered for his love of family and his willingness to always help others.  

In keeping with James wishes, he will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
