Helen ‘Ann’ (Wheeler) Spear, age 81 passed away peacefully on May 24, 2023 at her home in Brown County.
Ann was born September 19, 1941 in Crossville, Tennessee, to her parents, the late Samuel B. and Audrey ‘Helen’ (Boles) Wheeler. She attended Noblesville High School. Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She worked for several years as a Machinist for Mitchell & Scott Machine in Westfield.
Ann was a member of the Martinsville First Church of the Nazarene and the Getaway Cowboy Church in Trafalgar. She enjoyed reading her Bible, tending to her yard and caring for her hummingbirds. Ann also enjoyed spending time with her family and camping with her husband.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Cloyd Leroy Spear, whom she married on September 25, 1960 in Noblesville. Helen is also survived by her children, David Lee Spear of Brown County and Annette (Pete) Astphan of Massachusetts; siblings, Sammy Wheeler of Columbus, Margie (Dave) Daniels of Sheraton & Junior (Diane) Wheeler of Greenwood; grandchildren, Stephanie (Sean) Walsh of New York, Tephanie Malone of Georgia, Jonathan Spear of Minnesota, Becky Astphan of New York & Corey (Jennifer) Astphan of Tennessee; great grandchildren, Jacob Warner, Salis Warner, Bryan Malone, Emily Walsh, Bradley Astphan & Quinn Astphan.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Bethanie Malone.
Pastors Jeff Floyd & Jacob Morrison will conduct a funeral service on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
