Gene Raymond Lewis

Gene Raymond Lewis, age 67, passed away Monday afternoon, March 2, 2020 at Otterbein SeniorLiving Community in Franklin.  He was a resident of Morgantown.

Gene was born September 4, 1952, in Indianapolis, to his parents, the late Hermann E.  and Clarissa (LaFary) Lewis. He was a 1971 graduate of Indian Creek High School and went on to serve as a Staff Sergeant with the United States Air Force from 1975 to 1977. Gene has been employed at LSC Communications in Indianapolis for over 20 years.

He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts in Indianapolis. Gene enjoyed watching all kinds of sports on television and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Danny Turpin of Morgantown; siblings, Wanda Lebo of Morgantown, Randy Lewis of Martinsville, Joe Lewis of Indianapolis, Betty Ferran of Martinsville and Tim Lewis of Morgantown.

Inurnment will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March, 11th at East Hill Cemetery with Military Rites presented by the Martinsville American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guards.  Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
