Gayla 'Jill' (Riggins) Swenson

Gayla ‘Jill’ (Riggins) Swenson, age 76 passed away peacefully on Monday morning, November 21, 2022 at Majestic Care in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Greenfield.

Jill was born August 4, 1946 in Loogootee to her parents, the late Gordon and Myrl (Carraway) Riggins. She was a 1965 graduate of Connersville High School and went on to attend Business College in Richmond. Jill retired in 2019 as an Administrative Assistant for Harlan Industries in Greenfield after 25 years of service.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Connersville. Jill enjoyed watching movies and the QVC Channel. She also enjoyed caring for her beloved dog, Toby and her cats, Harry & Sally. Jill will be remembered for her great sense of humor, love for her family and her favorite color being blue.

She is survived by her brother, Jerry (Georgia) Riggins of Nineveh; nephew, Mike (Melissa) Riggins of Franklin; niece, Shawn (Dan) Amick of Summerville, SC; and a cousin, Steve Willett of Spiceland.

The Rev. Fred Brown will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Raglesville Cemetery.
