Eddie Lewis Law

Eddie Lewis Law, age 77, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, August 5, 2020 from the Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville. He was a resident of Brown County.

Eddie was born July 14, 1943, in Scottsville, Kentucky to his parents, the late Roy Elvis and Laura Kathryn (Meador) Law.  Eddie attended Center Grove High School and followed his dream of training horses to haul cut timber. He logged with horses for many years before partnering the family business with his son, Troy. Eddie enjoyed working as a carpenter, farmer and at various times he raised pigs, horses, rabbits, pigeons, chickens and goats.  He found it very relaxing to hunt and often stated that it wasn’t always about the actual hunt, but hearing the dogs on the trail.

Eddie was a member of the Way of Holiness Church in Brown County and served as the Chaplain at the Ace Coon Club in Morgantown where he had been a member for several years.

Eddie’s spiritual walk with the Lord Jesus Christ meant the world to him and he never missed a chance to share the Gospel with family, friends and strangers. He will be remembered most for his giving heart and unyielding faith in God.

Eddie loved spending time with his family and riding and caring for his horses. He will be remembered as being an expert marksman and for being able to shoot dimes, nickels and quarters out of the thin air.  

Eddie married the love of his life, Joyce (Mann) Law, on June 11, 1961 Franklin. She loving survives after 59 devoted years of marriage. He is also survived by his children, Teresa (John) Clark of Vincennes, Troy (Nina) Law of Brown County and Clay (Jenny) Law of Morgantown; siblings, Milton Law of Morgantown and Danny Law of Nashville; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Cillous Law, Norman Law, Jackie Law and Regina Tapp.

The Revs. Randall Sizemore and James Brown will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery Morgantown.
