Douglas 'Doug' Hubbard

Douglas ‘Doug’ Hubbard, age 63, passed away all too soon on Thursday morning, January 28, 2021 at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Brown County.

Doug was born August 5, 1957 in Indianapolis to his parents, the late Odus and Hazel M. (Sizemore) Hubbard. He was a 1975 graduate of Brown County High School.

Doug retired in 2010 as a Heavy Equipment Operator after more than 40 years of service. He was a member of the Mid Central Operating Engineers, Local 103 in Indianapolis. Doug was a past Moose Lodge member and loved being with his family and friends. He will be remembered most for his big, contagious smile, happy disposition, generous spirit and for the kindness he showed toward others.

Years ago, Doug was an avid CB enthusiast and went by the handle of ‘Happy Man.’ He enjoyed going to the casino and traveling with his wife, Robin, before her passing.

Doug was preceded in death on March 5, 2010 by his loving wife of 15 years, Roberta 'Robin' (Wampler) Hubbard, whom he married on March 4, 1995 in Nashville. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Darlene Eisenmenger and Donald ‘Donnie’ E. Hubbard.

Doug is survived by his sisters, Sandra Sue Buckler of Greenwood and Melissa Ann (Jerry) Williams of Trafalgar; and several nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Randall Sizemore will conduct a graveside service on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown. Masks will be required to wear at all times in an effort to promote a safe environment.
