Dirk Weber Obituary

Dirk A. Weber, age 49 passed away all too soon on Friday, January 24, 2020 at his home in Indianapolis.

He leaves behind his loving daughter, Julia (Jack Quire) Weber of Indianapolis; father, Gerhard J. (Mary Ann Soll) Weber of Nashville; brother, Dean (Katherine Ann) Weber of Indianapolis; half siblings, Sita Miller of Greenwood and Michael Rozens of Indianapolis; and nephews, Andrew J. Weber and Aleksander Dean Weber, both of Indianapolis.

Dirk was preceded in death by his mother, Gerda (Schluter) Weber and his daughter’s mother, Roxy Sours.

He was born May 15, 1970, in Beech Grove and was a 1988 graduate of Beech Grove High School. He went on to earn an Associate Degree in Mechanical Design and AutoCAD from Lincoln Technical Institute in 1989. Dirk continued to work on achieving his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from IUPUI in Indianapolis.

He was employed as a CADD Tech for Crossroads Engineering PC in Beech Grove for the last week. Prior to that, Dirk worked for Space Data Corp. in Greenwood as a Project Manager/Architectural-Mechanical Surveyor for the past fifteen years. His former employer and good friend, Sean Rapp, mentioned he was a master of juggling jobs and side gigs, and even designed Sean’s downtown home. He was an Architectural Draftsman & Surveyor at Plus 4 Architects and CWRA for a total of almost 30 years intermittently. He also designed a third of the Mall of America and various United Artists movie theatres.

He was a member of the AutoDesk Users Group International. He was a man of faith and attended various Christian and Lutheran church services throughout his life. Dirk also served on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Central Little League and was a Little League manager for his daughter’s softball team for 6 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his daughter, Julia. Dirk also enjoyed traveling and collecting baseball cards, board games, CDs and vinyl records. He was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers. He was a lover of animals and a proud grandparent to his daughter’s dog, Bowie.

The Rev. Dr. Scott Seay will conduct a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 15th, assemblage at 9:30, services starting at 11, followed by a luncheon from 12 to 2 at the Brown County Presbyterian Fellowship Church, 602 St. Rd. 135 N. in Nashville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
