Diana (McKee) Higginbotham

Diana (McKee) Higginbotham, age 73, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, March 22, 2021 at her home in Greenfield. She was a former resident of Indianapolis.

Diana was born April 10, 1947 in Martinsville to her parents, the late Alva and Thelma (Prosser) McKee. She was a very successful estate and custom jeweler for over 45 years.

Diana would purchase, sell and design jewelry for her customers. During her life, she was a model, managed an auto body shop and also worked as a private investigator all while continuing her love for jewelry.

Diana loved shopping for clothes and enjoyed finding and purchasing gifts for her family. She was an animal lover and enjoyed taking care of her cats: Sheena and Thor. Diana will be remembered most for her generous spirit and dedication to her family.  

She will be missed by her companion of 26 years, Robert Schmidt of Greenfield; brothers: Craig (Tammy) McKee of Nineveh, David McKee and Phillip McKee both of Martinsville, nieces and nephews: Tami Goode of Morgantown, Melissa (Jason) Tincher of Brown County, Amy Ambergy of Franklin, Jason (Gina) McKee of Towner, North Dakota, Christy (John) Robertson of Nashville and Matthew Cockril of Indianapolis; 9 great nieces and nephews and 3 great-great nieces and 1 great-great nephew and many friends who love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: John McKee.

The Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a funeral service on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home: 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
