Debra Havely Obituary

Debra “Debbie” A. (Reimer) Havely, age 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, January 19, 2022 at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was a resident of Nashville.

Debbie was born February 26, 1949, in Indianapolis to her parents the late Harry J. and Ruth Irene (Kirsch) Reimer. She was a 1967 graduate of Sacred Heart/Chartrand High School in Indianapolis and later married the love of her life, Gary L. Havely on June 8, 1968 in Indianapolis.  He preceded her in death on May 30, 2018 after 49 loving years of marriage.

Debbie retired from the Customer Service Department for Indianapolis Water Company/Citizens Energy Group after 32 years of service.

Debbie was very involved in her community and had a desire to serve others. She was a lifelong member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville, a 20 year member of the Brown County Lions Club and was also a former volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Indianapolis. She loved to traveling on Route 66 and was an avid collector of Ty Beanie Babies in the 90’s.In her free time she enjoyed watching Indiana University Basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. She spent time in the outdoors by gardening and belonged to the Brown County Garden Club.Most of all, Debbie loved her family and was often found behind the camera making memories and scrapbooking.

She will be missed by her daughter Mia Marie (Todd M.) Jackson of Nashville; grandchildren, Jessica Rose (fiancé Isaac Fox) Taylor of Bloomington, Gary M Havely and Todd Jordan “TJ” Jackson both of Nashville as well as several nieces and nephews.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Susie Peoples, Patricia Reimer, Judith Reimer; and husband Gary Havely.  

Father Eric Johnson will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 29th at St. Agnes Catholic Church: 1008 McLary Road in Nashville. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m until service time on Saturday at the church. Services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown. Inurnment will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nashville. The family request that all attendees wear a mask before entering the church.
