David Warren Huff, age 84, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on the morning of Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at his family home in Morgantown. He was a long-time resident of Morgantown.
David was born March 30, 1939 in Indianapolis to the late Charles W. and Goldie E. (Ackerman) Huff. He was a 1956 graduate of Helmsburg High School and went on to serve as a Private First Class with the United States Marine Corps. David began his service in June of 1956, in the 3rd Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan. He was released from active duty in May of 1958, but kept his love for the Marine Corps for the remainder of his life.
David retired in 1999 as the Publication Coordinator for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus after 42 years of service. He enjoyed spending his time with his wife, Luella, with whom he traveled the country on his Harley Davidson. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus at the Greenwood Park Mall and Morgantown area for over 15 years. David held memberships at the Morgantown Masonic Lodge, National Rifle Association, Harley Owner’s Group, The Scottish Rite, and the American Motorcyclist Association. He was a very proud lifetime member of the American Association for Nude Recreation.
David is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Luella (Hoagland) Huff. David was also preceded in death by daughter, Diana, and son, Darren Huff.
David is survived by his son, David L. (Paula) Huff of Morgantown; grandchildren, Courtney D. (Brian) Brake of Summerville, South Carolina, Shaley M. (Jeffery) Wright of Columbus, Indiana and Ali (Alex) Huff of Waldron, Indiana. He is also survived by two great grandsons, Lincoln and Hudson Brake.
Per David’s request, no formal services will be conducted. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
