Curtis E. Sandefur, age 74, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at St Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Morgantown.
Curtis was born August 22, 1945, in Indianapolis to his parents, the late Mondis and Geneva (Merriman) Sandefur. He was a 1963 graduate of Manual High School in Indianapolis.
Curtis was a car and motorcycle enthusiast and worked in the automotive industry his entire life, as a mechanic, car salesman, and manager. Curtis retired in 2016 from GMG Motors in Morgantown after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Church of the Firstborn in Martinsville and enjoyed singing and listening to oldies music on the radio. He also enjoyed restoring various antique cars and was a former member of the Corvette Club. Most of all, Curtis enjoyed spending time with his family.
He will be missed by his children Robin (Aaron) Grubb of Martinsville, Brent (Tammy) Sandefur of Morgantown, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, the mother of his children, Linda Sandefur of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina and brother: Richard (Anita) Sandefur of Portland, Oregon and several nieces and nephews.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents and son: Kent Sandefur.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
