Carol Skinner Obituary

Carol A. (Goss) Skinner, age 66, passed away all too soon on Monday evening, August 30, 2021 at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Whiteland and a former resident of Morgantown.

Carol was born February 1, 1955 in Indianapolis, to her parents, the late James and Francis (Nuae) Goss. She was a 1973 graduate of Eminence High School, where she was the class Valedictorian. Carol retired in 2015 after a 35-year career working in the Morgan County Prosecutors Office and as a Court Reporter for Morgan Superior Court 1.

She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Franklin and a former member of the Morgantown Baptist Church and the Martinsville Art Guild. Carol enjoyed painting landscapes, sewing, crosspoint, quilting and needlework. She enjoyed snow skiing with her family in Colorado and was a fan of Professional Bull Riding and the Indianapolis 500. Carol was also a fan of older musical movies with Fred Aster and Frank Sinatra being her   favorite actors. She also had a loved for Walt Disney World and Disney movies.   

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Dana K. Skinner, whom she married on August 2, 1980 in Plano, Indiana. She is also survived by her daughter, Leah (husband, Robert) Hendricks of Whiteland; siblings, Donna (Chuck) Jones of Martinsville, Jim (Marna) Goss of Sun City, AZ, Linda (Ken) Wilson of Indianapolis, Gene Goss of Elizabethan, TN, Susan Goss of Bloomington, Kathy Crites of Zionsville and Bob Goss of Avon; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister-in-law, Mildred ‘Millie’ Goss.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
