Brian Roller Obituary

Brian M. Roller, age 45 passed away all too soon on Sunday afternoon, August 9, 2020. He was a resident of Morgantown and a former resident of Martinsville.

Brian was born February 25, 1975 in Lafayette. He was a 1994 graduate of Baptist High School in Indianapolis and went on to attend Ivy Tech in Bloomington. Brian was working at Jo’s Bakery & Pizzeria in Trafalgar after hearing about how the owner’s generous outreach to the community during the pandemic.

He was a longtime member of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple and a former member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bloomington. He was very active and compassionate about serving children and teenagers, both in his church and anywhere he felt a calling. It was Brian’s calling to do what he could to help those children and teens attend church, youth group camps or to care for them in any way needed. Brian was drawn to help those in need and those less fortunate. He will be remembered for his funny sense of humor, his laugh, unselfish ways and his ability to make everyone feel welcome.   

Brian was a former member of the Bloomington Archery Club, Martinsville YMCA and the Artesian Little League Board of Directors. He formerly coached soccer at the YMCA and Girls Basketball at the Tabernacle Christian Church in Martinsville.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Christina P. (Kloss) Roller whom he married on June 28, 2003 in Mooresville. Brian is also survived by his mother, Brenda Lindsay of Indianapolis; father, Richard (Judee) Roller of Indianapolis; children, Machaela (Justin) Stewart of Ft. Campbell, KY, Andrew Kloss and Mia Roller, both of Morgantown; siblings, Rev. Matt (Bekah) Roller of Beech Grove and Rob Williams of Florida; grandson, Christopher Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Matt Roller will conduct a funeral service on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Indianapolis Baptist Temple, 4002 E. Southport Road in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time on Thursday at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown. To reduce the spread of COVID-19 and follow the mandate by the State of Indiana, all visitors will be required to provide and wear their own face covering and maintain social distancing.
