Brenda Lee (Meadows) Haapala, age 73 passed away Monday evening, November 15, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Brown County.
She was born February 25, 1948, in Beech Grove to her parents, the late Charles O. and Mary K. (Sisson) Meadows. Brenda was a 1966 graduate of Emmerich Manual High School and later married the love of her life, Thomas “Tom” Raymond Haapala on July 18, 1966 in Southport. Together they started a life together and raised three children: Holly, Dawn and Thomas. Tom preceded her in death on January 27, 2017 after 50 loving years of marriage.
She worked part time cleaning for various bed and breakfasts and most recently for the Artists Colony in Nashville. Brenda enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo, going to the casino, and square dancing with the Bucks & Does. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for friends and family. Brenda will be remembered most for her love of family.
She will be missed by her children: Holly Ann McCash of Brown County, Dawn Sholders of Brown County Thomas Charles (Katie) Haapala of Plainfield; grandchildren: Ashley Price, Melanie Rose McCash, Angela B. & Emily K. Sholders, Zara Hurst, Stacie Kammerling, Kassie Leigh Rose Haapala and Madison Nicole Haapala; great-grandchildren: Logan Hart, Aiden & Kira Price, Robin Brimberry, Theodore Sholders, Christiana Remmy and Emma Faulk; and several nieces and nephews.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mary; husband Tom; and sister Charlyn Stroud.
The Rev. Darrell Miller will conduct a funeral service at 1p.m. on Monday, November 22nd at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home: 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
