Beverly Wray Obituary

Beverly J. (Schlecht) Wray, age 82, passed away Tuesday morning, March 3, 2020 at Otterbein Franklin Senior Living Community. She was a resident of Morgantown.

Beverly was born June 17, 1937, in South Gate, CA to her parents, the late Earl A. and Hilda A. (Broekemeier) Schlecht. Beverly was a 1955 graduate of Downey High School in Downey, CA.

She retired from Morgantown IGA in 2001 where she had been employed as the Head Cashier since 1973.  Previously, Beverly worked as a Receptionist at Southwest Wholesale Hardware from 1955 – 1957 in Whittier, CA. 

She was a devoted and loving mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. Beverly enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing and working crossword puzzles. She loved visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren, and going out to eat with family.

Beverly was a member of the Brown County Community Church and a former member of the Morgantown Assembly of God and the Bear Creek Church in Brown County.

She is survived by her children, Sheri (Ed) Harvey of Morgantown and Rory (Lisa) Wray of Trafalgar; sister, Lana (Tom) Mullaney of Escondido, CA; grandchildren, Zach Wray of Nashville, Leah (Keith) Bergman of Bargersville, Lindsay (Ross) Taylor of Martinsville, Kasi (Adrian) Woodrum of Morgantown, Kelsey (Mike) Pflum of Trafalgar, Weston (Stefani) Wray of Trafalgar and Matthew Wray of Bargersville; great grandchildren; Andrew Long, Brycen Bergman, Heath Hipp, Landon Wray, Addison Bergman, Ryder Woodrum, Lux Wray, Rocson Woodrum, Drake Wray, Sky Wray, Liam Taylor, Rhett Woodrum, Layton Pflum, Sloan Wray, Palmer Wray, Race Woodrum, Chelsea Taylor and Madison Taylor; nephew, Pat (Cristina) Mullaney of San Marcos, CA; and a niece, Kelly (Alexander) McGuinness of Fort Worth, TX.

Beverly was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Wray; and a granddaughter: Jaclynn Wray.

The Rev. Ken Smith will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center located at 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.  Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery Morgantown.
