Anthony B. Serio

Anthony B. Serio, age 34, passed away all too soon on Thursday morning, April 23, 2020 at his home in Indianapolis.

He was born February 20, 1986 in Jefferson City, Missouri to his parents Dennis C. and Jill (Dowdy) Serio. Anthony was a 2004 graduate of Ben Davis High School.  Anthony worked for Marco’s Pizza as well as his family’s restaurant: Indy’s Family Restaurant in Martinsville.

Anthony was a very kind person who loved all people. He enjoyed listening to music, watching comedies and was an encyclopedia on classic movies and actors alike. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was very proud of his Italian-Irish Heritage and Roots from Brooklyn, New York. He loved traveling to New York to visit extended family and often dreamt of going to Italy to learn more about his heritage.

In his free time, Anthony enjoyed practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and watching professional wrestling. He had a strong sense of duty to help others and touched the lives of many.

Anthony will be remembered most for being kind, genuine, loving and accepting of all people.

He was a great friend, son and brother. He will be dearly missed by his parents Dennis and Jill Serio of Nashville, sister Jillian and brother-in-law Andrew Kovacs of Colorado Springs, Colorado, nephew Graysen and niece Vera, maternal grandmother Margaret Dugan of Sedalia, Missouri and paternal grandmother Selene Serio of Indianapolis, aunts: Justin Morgan and Kay Sincox, uncles: Roger, Scott and Rodney Serio and several cousins.

Anthony was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Gerald Dowdy and paternal grandfather Dennis Serio Sr. and his uncle and aunt: Michael and Jan Dowdy and cousin Krystal Serio.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a private family memorial service will take place at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown. Family and friends are encouraged to leave condolences, photos and memories in honor of Anthony at www.meredith-clark.com.
