Mary L. ‘Mare' (Agan) Poehler, age 76, passed away Thursday morning, August 8, 2019 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Morgantown.
Mare was born December 29, 1942, in Indianapolis, to her parents, the late Kent E. and Esther Mary Catherine (Meyer) Agan. Mare was a 1961 graduate of Manuel High School in Indianapolis. She retired from Dr. George Ostheimer's office where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for more than 30 years in Martinsville. Mare loved her dream home and admired the beautiful property that her husband created for themselves. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, riding horses, and truly cherished the time spent with family and friends.
Mare was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Rance W. Poehler, whom she married on November 26, 1960 in Indianapolis. She was also preceded in death by children, Christine and Kent Poehler.
Mare is survived by her son, Rance (Holly) Poehler of McKinney, Texas; siblings, Ruth (Harold ‘Art') Messer of Greenwood and Bill (Kathy) Agan of Martinsville; grandchildren, Mary Chaney, Rance B. Poehler, Nicole Farquharson and Zachary Poehler.
Her family is comforted knowing that she has now joined her husband, son, and daughter in the hands of the Lord. Mare will be remembered as always being the life of the party and willing to host family, friends and the neighborhood kids, who always wanted to hang out at her house. Her family is assured that she will be once again dancing and listening to music in Heaven. Peace be with you Mom, say hi to Dad, Chris, and Kent for us. From all the members of the P Troop!
A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, August 12th at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Funeral services have been entrusted to Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
