Mary E. (Frye) Taynor, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2019 at the IU Health West Hospital in Avon. She was a resident of Indianapolis for almost 50 years.
Mary was born October 9, 1925, in Bartholomew County to the late John and Mamie (Anderson) Frye. She graduated from Helmsburg High School and later married James T. Taynor on September 27, 1945 in Franklin. He preceded her in death on November 13, 1992 after 47 loving years of marriage.
Mary was a loving homemaker and worked at United Telephone Company from 1954 – 1962 and for Marsh’s Auction in Indianapolis from 1985 until 1990. She was a member of the Neighborhood Church of God and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and spending quality time with her family.
She will be missed by her daughters: Jackie Presley of Camby and Linda Brooks of Indianapolis, grandchildren: James Bray of Indianapolis, Tonyia Lucks of Peachtree City Georgia, Ella (Johnny) Sams and Ronnie (Amy Stewurt) Presley Jr. both of Camby, great grandchildren: Justin Lucks, Trenity Bray, Heaven Grubbs, James Armitage, and Katie Armitage and her brother, Johnny Frye of Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, siblings: Doris Giger, Edward, Charles and Lester Frye and grandson: Peter Oltman II.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, August 23rd at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown with burial at Nineveh Cemetery following the visitation.
