Marguerite (Throckmorton) Richhart, age 86, passed away Thursday morning, September 26, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Mooresville, North Carolina. She was a resident of Franklin and a former resident of Morgantown.
Marguerite was born April 14, 1933 in Morgantown, to her parents, the late Joseph Allen and Elsie Grace (Young) Throckmorton. She graduated from Trafalgar High School and was a loving wife, mother and homemaker.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James A. Richhart, whom she married on June 28, 1953 in Spearsville. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2003. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Cummings, Pearl Buckner and Elsie Richhart; brothers, Howard, Edward, Allen and Joseph Throckmorton.
Marguerite is survived by her daughters, Lori Wetzel of Mooresville, NC and Karen Richhart of Indianapolis; brother, Richard (Cathi) Throckmorton of Veedersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Morgantown and was a fan of Indiana University Men’s Basketball. Marguerite enjoyed picking blackberries and canning. She also enjoyed reading novels from her favorite author Karen Kingsbury.
The Rev. Richard Throckmorton will conduct a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Thursday at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Marguerite to the Throckmorton Scholarship Fund at Johnson University, 7900 Johnson Dr. Knoxville, TN 37998.
