Judith “Judy” Mae (Scrougham) Clupper, age 76, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, October 21, 2019 at the Brown County Health and Living Community in Nashville. She was a lifelong resident of Brown County.
Judy was born January 28, 1943, in Bean Blossom, to her parents the late Ernest "Buck" and Velma B. (Turner) Scrougham. She was a 1961 graduate of Helmsburg High School and went on to earn her teaching license in Indianapolis. She married Harold G. "Doc" Clupper on July 18, 1983 in Springfield, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1993.
Judy was a devoted school teacher and taught 4th grade students at Helmsburg Elementary School for 45 years. She was a former member of Cottonwood Christian Church and was also heavily involved in Old Settlers. Judy loved spending time with her husband, Doc, and working in many capacities on their farm.
She will be missed by her close friends and caretakers: Roger (Dixie) Cline of Morgantown and daughters Jennifer (Chris) Pierson of Columbus & Kirsten Velez of Mitchell, SD and several grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sharon Scrougham and husband Doc.
The Rev. Darrel Miller will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 25th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Weeping Willow Cemetery in Bean Blossom.
