Daniel Lehr Obituary

Daniel M. Lehr, age 70 passed away Sunday evening, November 3, 2019 at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.  He was a resident of Brown County.

Daniel was born December 29, 1948, in Indianapolis. He was a 1967 graduate of Brown County High School and went on to serve as a Seaman with the United States Navy from 1967 to 1970. After his service, Daniel earned an Associate's Degree in Electronics from Ivy Tech.

He retired in 2002 from BMG Music Company in Indianapolis where he was employed as a Computer Systems Analyst.  Prior to that, Daniel worked as a Computer Contractor for Cummins Engine Plant and Eli Lilly & Company.

He is a member of the Parkview Nazarene Church in Nashville, and a former longtime member of Spearsville Christian Church where he was an Elder & Deacon. He was also a former member of the Brown County American Legion.

Daniel enjoyed wood carving and painting landscapes, computer technology, swimming, golfing and taking camping trips to Dale Hollow Lake in Tennessee with his family.  His also enjoyed watching Do-It-Yourself television programs & science fiction shows.  Daniel had a great sense of humor and refused to take life too seriously.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Colleen C. (Emberton) Lehr, whom he married on April 1, 1972 in Bloomington. Daniel is survived by his mother, Mary M. (Ramey) Morton of Lewisport, KY; children, Kevin (Melanie) Beaver of Terre Haute, Katrina Murray of Indianapolis, Michelle (Chris) Sutton of Shelbyville and April Pappas of Columbus; siblings, Joanne Collins of Brown County,  David (Anita) Lehr of Brown County, Fred (P.J.) Lehr of Florida and Dennis (Janice) Lehr, of Indianapolis;  grandchildren, Nichol (R.C.) Mercer of Greenwood, Stacy (Nick) Singleton of North Carolina, Wyatt (Kassie) Pappas of Franklin and Alexandra Pappas of Edinburgh, Sean & Ian Beaver of Terre Haute and Abby & Andrew Sutton of Shelbyville; great-grandchildren,  Asher & Ollie Singleton and Drake & Baylor Mercer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Lehr; sibling, Beverly Schillings; grandson, PFC Robert W. Murray; sister in laws, Debbie Lehr and Barbara Lehr; and brother in law, Leroy Collins.

The Rev. Stan Loutner will conduct a funeral service 10:30 a.m. on Thursday  at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.  Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Spearsville Wesleyan Church Cemetery in Brown County with Military Rites presented by the United States Navy and the Brown County Honor Guard.
